  • Rock Band Hero!

I preordered Rock Band 2 yesterday.  Me and my Guitar Hero guitar are anxiously awaiting its mid-October arrival.  It's so long from now!

Work sucks this week, and it's a short week.  I am thinking about going on a photo expedition this weekend, but may end up just doing laundry.

  • Back to School

School's back in...I just picked up my friend Brandon from LAX (and am using his comp to blog while he moves in...), and it feels a little exciting. It's been six years since freshman year of college, holy crap! I feel like I haven't done enough with my life, but maybe that's because I'm watching Olympians younger than I am.

I took Thursday off to drop off Anj at the airport and hung out at USC with my old co-workers. I got to watch a little bit of the Spark! performance that afternoon:

Next week I'll be looking forward to next weekend.

  • Used the washer/dryer in our apt complex today that's $1.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry.

WTF on NORMAL my clothes are still damp after "drying" for 45 minutes.  What a waste.

    Next Book

I gave up on Tom Sawyer after reading less than 30 pages.
At the library, I was intent on borrowing Moby Dick.
The book was soon put back on the shelf, as the "Mystery" section was closer to the checkout counter than the "Fiction H-M" section, and the thrill of reading Death on the Nile took over.

Against my previous decision, I went back to the same laundromat down the street in an effort to save another $0.50.  On the other hand, I didn't get groceries, and thus need to buy lunch tomorrow - so there goes the savings?

  • Warning - Crawfish Guts

Long Beach Crawfish Festival on Saturday.
I have never had crawfish before- will I ever again?  Should you try it?  We would soon find out.

It was more of a "southern" festival than just crawfish - there was only one crawfish stand.

But it was a huge crawfish pot!

The crawfish were brought in live, of course.

Here's our "crawfish dinner."  A crapload of fresh crawfish and a few other sides.

I will be honest - it took me a little while to get past this sight and take a first bite...

        No problems here...

The crawfish were difficult to open, and meat was hard to come by.
Of the whole thing, only the tail had a substantial amount of meat.

       Had to be done!

      Also had to be done.

Here's what the body is like - not appetizing and probably not very edible.

Celebrating a completed meal with southern music.

Verdict: I will not eat crawfish again.
But I was glad to try it, and you should try it if you like seafood.  It tastes a little like lobster, except smaller and more work.
